His Holiness Srivaraha Mahadesikan Srimad Srimushanam Chinna Andavan, the current pontiff of the Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam, gifted a golden foot-armour (svarna thiruvadi) to the main deity (mulavar), Lord Varadaraja Perumal at Kanchipuram on 28th September 2019.
He also gifted a golden garment (svarna pitambaram) to the festival deity (utsavar) of Deepa Prakashar Perumal at Kanchipuram on the same day.
The gifts which weighed over 31 kgs in gold were carefully hand-crafted and handed over to the custodians of both temples a ceremony in Kanchipuram.
Disciples from all over the world had contributed to this sacred kainkaryam (service) to the Supreme Lord.
This was one of the main projects that His Holiness Srimad Andavan had undertaken immediately after he had ascended the acharya-peetham at the Srimad Andavan Ashramam.
