The ten-day online Sri Ramanavami competition called ‘Vande Raghavam Vibhum’ conducted by the Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam concluded on a high note with 5780 entries received from 3800 unique participants from thirteen countries around the world.

The celebrations which were launched under the divine niyamanams of His Holiness Srimad Andavan Srivaraha Mahadesikan attracted participants from all age groups. The oldest participant was aged ninety-one, while twenty-one participants were just two years old. The competitions included activities such as drawing, recitations, elocution, decoration, singing, crosswords and a quiz.

“With the anugrahams of our Acharyan, we saw bhagavatas of all ages from several countries such as India, USA, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and Switzerland participating enthusiastically in Sri Rama Kainkaryam,” explained U. Ve. Theyyar Ramanujachar (Lakshmanachar) Swami, the Srikaryam of the Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam. “We received over thirty-five lakh entries of Rama Nama, which is a phenomenal response. We urge the worldwide community of devotees to continue to write Rama Nama even though the competition has concluded.”

Vande Raghavam Vibhum attracted many illustrious participants such as Sri Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Sri Vishwesh Prapannacharyaji Maharaj of Sugriva Kila, Ayodhya, and Sri Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Sri Anirudhacharya Maharaj, Sri Vedanta Desika Ashram, Keshighat, Vrindavana.

“This is an excellent initiative by Srimad Andavan,” said Raghavachari Vijayaraghavan, one of the parents. “It will not only increase the Rama Bhakti cult amongst our youngsters but also encourage them to learn more about our sampradayam, which is an absolute requirement today.”
