The Department of Vaishnavism at the University of Madras had invited Srimad Srimushnam Chinna Andavan Sri Srivaraha Mahadesikan to deliver a prestigious academic lecture at the University of Madras on 25 January 2020.
Srimad Andavan addressed over 50 academics who had assembled to hear him speak on the topic, ‘The vaibhavam (glories) of Sri Vedanta Desika’, at the annual Narayanachar & Saroja Narayanachar Endowment lecture.
The University of Madras is the only University in the whole of the country to have a separate Department for the Philosophy of Vaishnavism. The former head of the Department, Dr. M.Narasimhachary was awarded Merit Certificate for Sanskrit by H.E. The President of India.
The event was hosted by the Head of the Department, Prof K. Dayanidhi at the Centenary Building inside the Chepauk campus of the University.
