Important Announcement – September 9, 2025
Our Ashramam, with Anugraham of Srimad Andavan Srimad SriVaraha MahaDesikan, has digitized, redesigned and republished ஆச்ரம வரலாறு booklets – one for each of the 4 Srimad Andavan Poorvacharays, whose Thanians in video format are shown above. These booklets are pdf documents and they contain the actual texts in large print. The pages in these booklets are not mere scanned page images. New software automation has been designed and implemented to read images of old book pages, to refine the images and to extract text from the processed images at a very good pace. Because of the extracted text, redesigning, re-formatting and republishing an old book is now possible.
Please note that the contents in the 4 booklets have been enhanced to include the common content in the first 2 sections of the original book. This portion provides valuable information about the Ashram, Srimad Andavans, Acharya Paramparai, etc. in a summarized format.
Here are the book titles and links to access the free, downloadable pdf documents.

Who We Are
Srirangam Srimad Andavan Ashramam is an institution that is over three hundred years old, and belongs to the Sri Vaishnava tradition. It follows the teachings of vishishtadvaita, as propounded by Bhagavad Ramanuja and Srimad Vedanta Desika.
The main spiritual headquarter of the Andavan Ashramam is in Srirangam, where most acharyas of this lineage have spent their saintly lives.
The institution has over 35 centres spread across India and the US. The institution also runs the Andavan Arts and Science College, several veda-patasalas, and goshalas.
The main symbol of worship in the Andavan tradition is the divine sandals of Sri Ranganatha known simply as Rangantha-padukas.
What We Do
01.
The Acharya of the Srimad Andavan Ashramam awards initiation to the fold of Srivaishnavism through a ritual called samashrayanam, and conducts sacramental surrender known as bharanyasam.
02.
The institution runs the Srimad Andavan College for Arts and Science to cater to students from rural and backward areas. It also runs several veda-patasalas or seats of traditional learning.
03.
We celebrate several festivals (utsavams) and holy birthdays (thirunakshatrams ) related to the Lord or our acharyas. Thousands of disciples and well-wishers participate in these to seek divine blessings.
04.
The Andavan Ashramam runs many charitable trusts for providing education, preserving the Vedic tradition, publishing books, renovating temples, providing free meals to pilgrims, and protecting cows.
